As of late, there has been a lot of hype being generated for OnePlus’ upcoming smartphone called the OnePlus Nord. There had been earlier speculations regarding the launch happening on July 10 but now Amazon India might have confirmed that the device will in fact be launching on July 21. It would seem that Amazon had by mistake uploaded the page which revealed the launch date and has since been taken down. However, we should be getting a more permanent announcement of the event soon. Something that was also mentioned on the now taken down page was that it would be the world’s first AR event. Here’s what you need to know about it.
OnePlus Nord: AR Event and expected price
Amazon mentions that OnePlus’ Nord launch event can be viewed in AR from the comfort of your home or any place with a good internet connection. Physical invites can be purchased wherein you can scan the QR code through the Amazon app and start watching the AR launch event on the 21 July. Purchase of an invite automatically means that you would be eligible for a chance to win the OnePlus Q1 TV, Nord Phone, Bullets Wireless Z earphones, and gift cards.
Talking about price, it is being speculated that the OnePlus Nord will have a 5G and non-5G variant both of which in turn will have several storage and RAM configurations. The starting price of the device is being touted at around Rs 25,000. We shall have to wait for the launch date to know for sure. However, we can be sure that the price in India will surely be less than what the company is pricing the product in the western markets.
OnePlus Nord: Expected specifications
Rumours and official reports from the company itself have painted a near wholesome picture of the OnePlus Nord. The phone is said to have 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. On the front, there will be a dual-selfie shooter with a 32MP sensor while the phone’s back has shown what appears to be a triple-camera system. The primary shooter is believed to be a 48MP sensor supported by a telephoto and ultra-wide camera.
Powering the phone is Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC which happens to be 5G enabled. The OnePlus Nord will have 159.2 x 74 x 8.6mm dimensions and have IP53 dust and water resistance rating. We should have 8GB and 6GB RAM options along with 128GB internal storage. The whole setup is believed to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T charging solution.
