Next-generation Samsung Galaxy Watch with Stainless Steel Case Gets Certified by FCC, Launch Seems Imminent

We already know that Samsung is working on a new smartwatch (probably a successor to the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Watch Active 2) and that its four main model numbers are SM-R840/845 and SM-R850/855. Moreover, we had recently spotted the SM-R840 and SM-R850 models of Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch on the MIIT certification platform.

Today, we bring you some new information regarding the upcoming smartwatch from Samsung. We have now spotted the certifications of Samsung SM-R845 and SM-R855 models of Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch on FCC.

Second-generation Samsung Galaxy Watch gets FCC certification

Before we start, let me tell you that the FCC certifications of the SM-R845 and the SM-R855 smartwatches reveal that the upcoming smartwatch from Samsung will have three additional models, SM-R845F, SM-R845U, SM-R855F, and SM-R855U.

Now, there are a ton of documents in the FCC certification of the SM-R845 and SM-R855 models of Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch. However, the most interesting piece of document that we have come across is the one that has a schematic of the back panel of the SM-R845U model of the smartwatch.

It reveals that the retail name of the Samsung SM-R845U is Samsung Galaxy Watch, confirming the name of the upcoming smartwatch from Samsung. So, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch will not have ‘2’ or ‘2020’ tag attached to the name as everyone was expecting; it will simply be called the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Furthermore, the schematic reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Watch (SM-845U) will have a 45mm size, stainless steel case, Corning Gorilla Glass XD protection for the display, 5ATM water-resistance, MIL-STD 810G certification for ruggedness, GPS, and LTE and that the smartwatch will be manufactured in Vietnam.

Other certification documents of the Samsung Galaxy Watch reveal that the smartwatch will have Bluetooth (unknown version), Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, and 5W wireless charging. One of the certification documents reveals that the model number of the wireless charger of the second-generation Galaxy Watch is EP-OR825.
