iQOO 5 Launch Date Announced, Confirmed to Feature 120W Fast Charging Technology

It’s been some time since we have been hearing about the imminent announcement of the new iQOO 5 series of smartphones. Various information pertaining to the iQOO 5 have appeared on Chinese social media platforms over the course of the past few days. In fact, the last report we heard about the phone was the possibility of this handset being launched in China in the month of August. That was just two days ago. Today, the official Weibo account of iQOO confirmed the launch date for the new iQOO 5 – and as predicted by the tipster, this launch is scheduled to take place this month. Following this announcement, a landing page for the IQOO 5 has also appeared on popular Chinese e-commerce platform JD.com where additional specs of the phone have also leaked. Additionally, folks at WhyLab have posted a live image of the phone with a label alongside it confirming support for 120W fast charging.

iQOO 5 Launch date in China

Per the official post on iQOO’s Weibo account, the iQOO 5 will be officially announced at an event on August 17. Here’s a screenshot of the post (translated to English) in which the launch date is clearly mentioned. A launch poster is also out (embedded below).

IQOO 5 expected specs, what we know so far

Additionally, a listing that appeared on JD.com confirms that the iQOO 5 is a flagship-grade handset that comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The phone also supports UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM. From the leaked image, it seems that the handset gets a single punch hole design with curved edges. While the display type hasn’t been revealed, it is likely to be an AMOLED panel.

The listing does not reveal the battery capacity of the phone, but there is a good chance that we are looking at a phone with at least a 4000 mAh power pack. IQOO had not too long ago showcased its 120Hz fast charging technology on a prototype device with a 4000 mAh battery that charged from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes. It would be interesting to see if the iQOO 5 can actually charge from 0 to 100 in the same amount of time. Also noticeable in the poster is the fact that the phone is TUV Rheinland certified for safe battery charging.

Anyway, with the launch date for the IQOO 5 confirmed, we should have additional details about the device out in the next few days.

OnePlus Nord Open Sale Date Changed to August 6: Check Price and Launch Offers

It was on July 21, 2020, that OnePlus announced the launch of its new mid-range smartphone — the OnePlus Nord. Positioned below the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 7 series of flagship-grade devices, the OnePlus Nord marks the return of OnePlus to the sub Rs 30K segment after quite some time. On launch day, OnePlus India confirmed that the device shall go on sale in the country starting August 4, 2020. Well, today’s August 4, and it seems OnePlus has had a sudden change of heart. The banner on Amazon now says that the open sale will commence from 12 PM, August 6. A post on the OnePlus forum also confirms this.

OnePlus Nord open sale details

The OnePlus Nord will be on sale via two platforms starting August 6, 2020: OnePlus’ own e-store that can be accessed here; or by simply going to Amazon by clicking this link.  OnePlus has confirmed that this will be an open sale. What is interesting, however, is the fact that the company is yet to reveal the time when the sale would actually begin. As mentioned earlier, the company had earlier decided to start the open sale on August 4 before postponing it to August 6.

The OnePlus Nord comes in three variants, starting with a base 6GB + 64GB variant that is priced at Rs 24,999. This model, however, will only be available starting September. The two other options – that you can actually buy in this first sale – are the 8GB + 128GB and the 12GB + 256GB variants priced at Rs 27,999 and Rs 29,999, respectively. The phone is offered in two color options: Blue Marble and Gray Onyx.

As mentioned earlier, the OnePlus Nord comes in 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB LPDDR4X RAM options and 64GB/128GB/256GB UFS2.1 storage variants. The battery capacity of the OnePlus Nord is 4115 mAh, and it supports OnePlus’ proprietary fast charging technology WarpCharge 30T.

ट्विटर अब कई नई पेड सेवाओं को लाने की योजना बना रहा है। इसके लिए उसने सर्वे भी शुरू कर दिया है। कंपनी की इसमें से प्रमुख सेवा ट्वीट को एडिट करना है। यानी आपने कोई ट्वीट किया तो उसे आप गलत या सही सुधार भी सकेंगे। कुछ रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक ट्विटर एक अंडू सेंड (Undo Send) नाम से बटन लाएगा जो एडिट का काम करेगा। साथ ही आप ज्यादा शब्दों का ट्वीट भी कर पाएंगे और हाई क्वालिटी के वीडियो भी अपलोड कर पाएंगे। लेकिन इसके लिए आपको पैसे चुकाने होंगे।

पैसे देने वाले यूजर्स वर्तमान में अपलोड किए जानेवाले वीडियो की तुलना में पांच गुना ज्यादा बड़ा वीडियो अपलोड कर सकेंगे। साथ ही मेनू को ऑटो रिस्पांस के लिए भी सेट कर सकते हैं। इसी तरह अन्य फीचर्स में एडवरटाईज को प्लेटफॉर्म पर चलाने का भी विकल्प है। जॉब लिस्टिंग और अन्य कई सारे फीचर्स पैसे देने पर मिलेंगे। दूसरी तिमाही के रिजल्ट में ट्विटर ने कहा था कि हम अतिरिक्त रेवेन्यू के लिए अवसरों को तलाश रहे हैं।

देश में चीन विरोधी स्वर का फायदा उठाने के लिए अब कोरियन कंपनी सैमसंग तैयार है। कंपनी भारत में अपने नए और बजट रेंज वाले स्मार्टफोन और डिवाइस को उतराने की तैयार कर रही है। उसका लक्ष्य शाओमी समेत कई चीनी कंपनियों को खिलाफ अपनी जमीन तैयार करना है।

देश के अंदर स्मार्टफोन बेचने वाली कंपनियों में सैमसंग एकमात्र नॉन-चाइनीज कंपनी है। भारत-चीन सीमा पर चीन द्वारा भारतीय सैनिकों पर हमले के बाद से देश में चीनी प्रोडक्ट का विरोध हो रहा है। इस वजह से सैमसंग को फायदा मिल सकता है।

सैमसंग का मार्केट शेयर बढ़ा
काउंटरपॉइंट की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, साल की दूसरी तिमाही में सैमसंग 26% मार्केट शेयर के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रही, जबकि इस दौरान 29% शेयर के साथ शाओमी पहले स्थान पर रही। कोरोनावायरस के चलते सैमसंग की सप्लाई चेन भी प्रभावित रही। साथ ही, प्रोडक्शन में भी देरी हुई। बता दें कि कंपनी पिछली तिमाही में 16% हिस्सेदारी के साथ यह तीसरे स्थान पर थी।

काउंटरपॉइंट की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, सैमसंग का भारतीय बाजार में सालाना रिटेल स्मार्टफोन रेवेन्यू 7.5 बिलियन डॉलर (लगभग 56 हजार करोड़ रुपए) का है। जो अमेरिका के बाहर कंपनी का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा बाजार है।

कोविड-19 महामारी के बीच सैमसंग अपने मैन्युफैक्चरिंग पावर को बढ़ाकर भारतीय बाजार में अपनी जमीन को मजबूत करना चाहती है। देश में जहां चीनी प्रोडक्ट का विरोध हो रहा है, तो शाओमी, ओप्पो जैसी कंपनियों को कोविड की वजह से प्रोडक्शन में देरी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। जबकि सैमसंग की डिलीवरी काफी स्मूद चल रही है।

बजट स्मार्टफोन पर फोकस
सैमसंग के प्रोडक्शन में लगातार तेजी दिख रही है। कंपनी जून के बाद से सात नए स्मार्टफोन लॉन्च कर चुकी है, जिसमें तीन 10,000 रुपए के करीब हैं, इसमें 75 डॉलर (करीब 4000 रुपए) का सबसे सस्ता एंड्रॉयड फोन भी शामिल है।

कोविड-19 महामारी की वजह से स्कूल और कॉलेज में ऑनलाइन एजुकेशन का क्रेज बढ़त रहा है, जिसके चलते स्मार्टफोन की डिमांड भी भारतीय बाजार में बढ़ रही है। यही वजह है कि सैमसंग बजट स्मार्टफोन पर ज्यादा फोकस कर रही है। कंपनी के प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि वो भारत में अपने डिवाइसेज को लेकर हाई डिमांड देख रहे हैं। उन्हें उम्मीद है कि पिछले साल की तुलना में कंपनी के रेवेन्यू में बढ़ोतरी होगी।
